If you are someone who loves solitude, the Agonda Beach is the best place for you to go. Situated at a distance of 37 km away from Margao, the Agonda beach is a far cry from the crowded Calangute and Anjuna beaches of Goa. This lovely beach is a 3 km long virgin stretch of white sand fringed with palm trees. In fact, after the hustle and bustle of the other tourist spots in Goa, the Agonda beach is perfect getaway for the tired traveler. Since this beach is not frequented by many tourists, there are very few stalls and eating joints around it. Therefore it is advisable that you carry all the items you need when you visit the Agonda beach.
Not far from the beach is the fort of Cobo de Rama, named after Lord Rama, which is a nice site to explore. Once you are on this beautiful and secluded beach, you can just sit down to relax and enjoy nature at its best. A swim is a nice option, however it is not safe to swim too far out on this beach. Therefore it is best to laze around in the sun and revel in the picturesque surroundings, which would do wonders to your state of mind. The Agonda beach does not have good lodging facilities. So it is better to stay at Palolem and drive down to Agonda for a quiet outing. If you are of the adventurous kind, you can always hire a tent and camp for the night on this beautiful beach in Goa.
How to reach Agonda Beach
It is a little difficult to reach Agonda Beach because local buses do not ply here. Therefore it is better to hire a taxi or a bike.
