Schedule of the Delhi Darshan Tour :
On your tour of Old Delhi, you will get a 9:30 am pickup from your hotel and then taken on a sightseeing trip of the historical center of the city.
Old Delhi has been the seat of the Mughal Empire for more than three centuries. It is from here that the Mughal emperors ruled over India for hundreds of years. Later on, Delhi also served as the capital city of British India. As a result, the city is full of historical monuments and edifices that remind one of the glorious past of the country.
The sightseeing trip of Old Delhi includes visit of Red Fort or Lal Quila. The fort was built in the 17th century by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to protect the city from enemy invasions.
Your next stop will be at Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India which was also built by Shah Jahan in 1658.
You’ll then be taken to Raj Ghat to pay homage to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
Later on, drive through the nostalgic lanes of Chandni Chowk and experience the royal life that once described Delhi.
After lunch, you will be taken to visit New Delhi, which now serves as the capital city of the country. It is also known as Lutyens Delhi, named after the British architect who conceptualized the city. He is bestowed with the credits for designing the India Gate, Presidential House, Secretariat, Parliament House and several other monuments and buildings which have now become the landmarks of modern India.
You will then be taken to the Lotus Temple, the newest tourist hotspot of the city and Qutub Minar. The minaret is said to mark the onset and rise of Islam in the country and is one of the oldest examples of Indo-Islamic architecture.
You will be dropped at your hotel latest by 5:30 pm in the evening.
