Popularly referred as the 'Ornithologist's Paradise,' the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is the most important tourist attractions in the town. Also known as the "Keoladeo National Park,' the sanctuary shelters over 400 bird species including the world-famous Siberian Cranes, who are special guests of the sanctuary during the winters. Other important birds, easily spotted in the sanctuary, include Pelicans, Cranes, Egrets, Darters, Cormorants, Grey Herons, Stork, Ducks, Eagles, Hawks, Pipits, Warblers, Wheatears, Wagtails, Flycatchers, Buntings, Larks, Shanks, and Stints to name a few.
