Major tourist attractions in Jaipur

City Palace: Serving as the main landmark of the city, City Palace is a perfect combination of Rajput and Mughal architecture. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh II, this is a huge complex covering a remarkable portion of the city. Including various gardens and courtyards, there are many buildings inside this complex

Hawa Mahal: This building is a part of City Palace, built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in 1799, and is also known as the ' Palace of Breeze'. This was a part of the female section of the palace, called Zenana, from where they could see a daily life of the city through these veiled screens of the 950 windows of the Palace.

Jantar Mantar: Maharaja Jai Singh, the founder of the city, built many astronomical observatories from 1727-1734, and Jantar Mantar is one of these. The building has many devices to measure time, trace motions of stars and planets, and so on.

Amber Fort: This 18th century palace, was built by Raja Man Singh, and got the name of the town of Amber. The pastel yellow fort, is a building styled in Rajput and Mughal architecture, and one of the most integral sections of the fort is the Sheesh Mahal, where mirrors are used as tiles on the walls and ceilings forming brilliant reflective patterns. You can take an elephant ride to the fort.

Ram Niwas Bagh: Built by Sawai Ram Singh II in 1868, as a famine relief project , the place is famous for its brilliant garden and exotic zoo. There are also museums, greenhouse, and sport grounds here.
