Srinagar-
One of the most beautiful town of the city, Srinagar is the pride of Kashmir, whose Mughal Gardens and fountains are the best attractions you can behold. The Dal Lake is a major source of tourism here, whose houseboats charm the tourists, whether coming from inside or outside the country.
 
Gulmarg-
This is another major attraction for traveling in Kashmir, which is popular for its brilliant trees and meadows and mesmerizing sceneries. While in winters , under the heavy snow fall, the entire town is cloaked in white. You must visit the Alpather lake and the golf courses of the town, while skiing too can be enjoyed here.
 
Pahalgam-
Providing an absolutely rustic feel to the voyeurs, Pahalgam is popular for its green pastures, its picnic spots, saffron fields, and fir cladded hills, which gets covered in snow during winters. Tulian lake, Aru and Mamaleshwara are some of the notable attractions of Pahalgam. Have a nice time fishing here on your holiday.
 
Sonamarg-
Also known as the “ Golden Meadow”, derived from its name “ Son”, which means “Gold”, owing to the yellow crocuses, it is one of the smallest and liveliest resorts in Kashmir. Located by the mighty Sind valley, and making way for many glaciers of Himalayas, Sonamarg has a stunning forest growth.
 
Patnitop-
Having magnificent views of the Chenab basins with mighty backdrops of mountains, forests and lush meadows with beautiful flowers, Patnitop is a mesmerizing tourist attraction in Kashmir. A place famous for its picnic spots, golf courses, and pine forests, Patnitop has many freshwater springs and various exciting things to do.
 
Leh and Ladakh-
Two of the most exciting trekking places in the country, known as the land of high passes, Ladakh is a small town in Kashmir which is most popular for its glaciers, rivers, trekking routes and mountain biking. Leh is a smaller town in Ladakh, which similarly serves its tourists. Both the places have a remarkable population of Tibetans and even the culture is hugely inspired by them.
 
Recreational Activities:
All the valleys are beautiful, but more important than that, they will serve as amazing places on holiday for their unique adventurous and recreational activities. In each destination you will get to try things like horse riding, boating, angling, trekking, white water rafting, camping, golf, skiing( during winters), walks, para gliding, gondola rides, sightseeing, and many others. Shopping in Kashmir:
Kashmir is as unique in its goods and materials, as it is in its culture and beauty. The world famous Cashmere Shawls (Pashmina Shawls) are a product of Kashmir and its artists. You can shop for some of the best woolen stuff, hand designed textiles, carpets, mats, rugs, wall hangings, and many things. While from many villages, local markets you would be able to collect souvenirs and Tibetan or Kashmiri handicrafts as well. Also include the best saffron of Kashmir in your shopping list. 
 
Best Season to visit Kashmir:
Since most of the places in Kashmir are cold places which receive heavy snowfall during winters , it is highly recommended that you plan a travel holiday to Kashmir in Indian summer season, from March to June. Avoid the monsoon, July - September and Winters, November - February.
 
How to reach Kashmir:
 
By Air-
In Srinagar, you have the International Airport, which receives many flights both domestic as well as International. Rest of the attractions are also closer to Srinagar which you can reach via taxi, from the airport.
 
By Train-
Kashmir is connected via railway links in Jammu, which has a major railway junction. From Jammu, you can reach your particular destinations via taxis or cabs.
 
By Road-
Road links are very exciting here, as they provide beautiful scenes to the tourists, and most of the Kashmiri destinations are 6 or 8 hours drive from Jammu. Major cities of the country offer tourist buses till Jammu. Though an important thing to bear in mind is the problem of landslides, especially during winters, which creates a hindrance on the roads.
